System Administrator - Azure and Windows

About the role

Pythian is looking for a System Administrator with deep expertise in Azure cloud infrastructure and Windows Server administration. You will ensure the reliability, performance, and security of both cloud‑based and on‑premises environments.

Key responsibilities

• Deploy, configure, and monitor IaaS/PaaS workloads in Microsoft Azure.
• Manage hybrid identity solutions, including Azure AD Connect, synchronization, and single sign‑on.
• Configure and maintain networking components such as VNets, NSGs, route tables, VPN gateways, and security groups.
• Apply system updates, patches, and compliance settings via Azure Update Manager.
• Implement backup, recovery, and monitoring solutions (Azure Backup, Azure Monitor, CloudWatch).
• Administer Windows Server (2016, 2019, 2022) – installation, configuration, patching, and performance tuning.
• Automate routine tasks using PowerShell, CLI, and Infrastructure‑as‑Code tools (ARM, Bicep, Terraform).

Required profile

• Proven experience in system administration, troubleshooting, and diagnostics.
• Strong background in Windows Server management and Azure cloud technologies.
• Detail‑oriented with excellent problem‑solving abilities.
• Ability to deliver secure, reliable, and efficient infrastructure solutions.
