Surveyor – Transmission Line (Full‑time)

About the role

The Surveyor will verify route alignment, tower locations, substation setting‑out and as‑built survey information in line with approved drawings and project control requirements. This site‑based role supports AECOM’s Energy team on major HVDC and transmission infrastructure projects across India.

Key responsibilities

• Verify primary and secondary survey control points, coordinates, benchmarks and reference levels.
• Review contractor survey methodology, equipment calibration certificates and control procedures.
• Conduct check surveys for route alignment, tower spotting, span lengths, ground levels and clearances.
• Validate foundation centre lines, stub‑setting coordinates, levels and orientation.
• Perform special‑crossing surveys for highways, railways, rivers, pipelines and existing utilities.
• Confirm statutory and design clearances and identify discrepancies between drawings and site conditions.
• Maintain field books, coordinate registers and instrument‑calibration records.
• Support resolution of ROW, route deviation and land‑boundary issues through verified survey data.

Required profile

• Diploma or degree in Civil Engineering, Survey Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 8 years of relevant survey experience, preferably on transmission line projects.
• Proven experience in tower spotting, substation setting‑out and HVDC route surveys.
