Supply Chain Planning Analyst

About the role

Caterpillar is seeking a Supply Chain Planning Analyst to join its global Manufacturing Parts Nodes (MPN) Network team. The role focuses on end‑to‑end supply‑chain improvement, strategic projects, and network optimization to enhance availability, cost efficiency, and inventory turns.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with multi‑functional teams to execute the supply‑chain planning process and optimize Global Supply Plan (GSP) network parameters.
• Gather, clean, and analyze large data sets using advanced Excel, PowerBI, and SQL.
• Develop processes and tools for supplier schedule collaboration, surplus inventory management, customer order prioritization, and bill‑of‑distribution optimization.
• Conceptualize and build data‑analytics dashboards to support decision‑making.
• Perform detailed root‑cause analysis of complex supply‑chain problems.

Required profile

• Knowledge of business‑process improvement best practices and ability to identify, evaluate, and implement more efficient approaches.
• Experience gathering and analyzing data to illustrate problems, opportunities, and improvement methods.
• Strong analytical thinking, using techniques such as flow charts, Pareto analysis, and fishbone diagrams to uncover root causes.
• Proven problem‑solving skills with tools and techniques for anticipating and resolving organizational issues.
