Supply Chain Engineer

About the role

Flex is seeking a Supply Chain Engineer to join its Chennai team. You will drive sourcing and pricing strategies, work closely with customers and suppliers, and help ensure cost‑effective delivery of electronic components.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute sourcing and pricing strategies for material quotations.
• Present value‑add proposals to customers and influence the use of Flex‑preferred suppliers.
• Manage component cost and price across local, regional and global scopes.
• Track material financial performance and initiate corrective actions.
• Coordinate supplier contract negotiations, including MOUs and NDAs.
• Monitor purchase price variance, supplier lead times, and inventory levels.
• Participate in global and regional commodity teams and contribute to quarterly scorecards.
• Drive initiatives to improve gross material margin and optimize retained purchase price variance.

Required profile

• BE in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 4 years of experience in finance, materials sourcing, commodity management or supply‑chain design.
• Strong understanding of cost accounting, electronic component markets and price trends.
• Background in electronics manufacturing.
