Supplier Quality Engineer – Castings & Machined Castings

About the role

We are seeking a Supplier Quality Engineer specialized in castings and machined castings to join Siemens Mobility’s Supplier Quality Management team. In this regional role you will drive continuous improvement of supplier quality, support supplier development and ensure compliance with our stringent product and process standards.

Key responsibilities

• Improve and monitor the quality of supply from casting suppliers across the region.
• Act as the central contact for development and engineering, focusing on casting (e.g., motor housing) and mechanical processing.
• Conduct supplier audits, process surveys and root‑cause analyses to guarantee product and process quality.
• Support suppliers in creating and implementing action plans and performance‑improvement measures.
• Participate in supplier qualification, development activities and release of FAI/PPAP for casting parts onsite.
• Implement improvement initiatives, perform effectiveness checks and drive cost‑reduction through material and process analysis.
• Standardize purchased parts where possible and coordinate cross‑functional measures.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering.
• Professional experience in the foundry industry (ductile iron casting, steel casting) and mechanical processing of castings (e.g., milling).
• Familiarity with Supplier Quality Management functions in a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to work with global commodity teams and manage regional supplier topics.
