About the role
The OEM Supplier Account Manager is responsible for managing strategic relationships with assigned suppliers to ensure cost, quality, and delivery performance aligning with organizational goals. This role involves end‑to‑end supply chain engagement, supplier qualification, and risk mitigation for OEM equipment sourcing.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and execute commodity strategies for OEM electrical, electronic, and electromechanical components.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with assigned OEM suppliers and measure supplier KPIs covering cost, quality, delivery and lead time.
- Identify alternate sources to mitigate supply risk and ensure continuity of supply.
- Partner with stakeholders to oversee OEM supplier qualification, including technical capability assessments and compliance with global standards such as IEC, IEEE, ANSI, NEMA, ISA, UL and CE.
- Negotiate commercial terms and contracts, and collaborate with engineering teams to qualify new suppliers meeting cost targets and material specifications.
- Act as the final escalation point for supplier issues, drive resolution, and evaluate cost structures for reduction opportunities.
- Analyze market trends and supplier benchmarks to maintain competitive pricing and implement commodity strategies.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in any engineering discipline.
- 15+ years of experience in manufacturing, strategic sourcing, category management or related fields.
- 5+ years leading large‑scale commercial negotiations with OEM suppliers.
- Indian citizenship with a valid passport and ability to travel internationally (Asia, Singapore, China, USA) up to 35% of the time.
- Flexibility to work from home or office and to collaborate across multiple time zones.
- Valid driving license.
Required skills
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Power BI.
- Hands‑on experience with SAP (and preferably Ariba RFQ tool).
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
- Knowledge of IEC, IEEE, ANSI, NEMA, ISA, UL and CE standards.
- Understanding of logistics and customs regulations (import/export).
- Data‑driven problem‑solving and strong negotiation capabilities.
