Supplier Account Manager - Machining

About the role

Applied Materials is seeking a Supplier Account Manager for machining commodities to lead strategic supplier relationships, ensure cost, quality and delivery performance, and support the company’s global supply chain.

Key responsibilities

• Identify, qualify and develop strategic suppliers for machining components.
• Conduct supplier capability and capacity assessments and monitor KPI’s for cost, quality, delivery and lead‑time.
• Negotiate commercial terms and contracts, and manage escalation of supplier issues.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to qualify new suppliers and materials.
• Monitor market trends, cost structures and drive cost‑reduction initiatives.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Production Engineering.
• 10+ years of experience in manufacturing, sourcing, procurement or supply‑chain management.
• Strong knowledge of machining processes and large‑scale commercial negotiations.
• Experience working globally and with remote teams.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
• Proficiency with SAP and Ariba RFQ tools.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
• Knowledge of logistics and customs regulations (import/export).
