Supervisor - Production

About the role

The Production Supervisor will lead the Closing Production function at Aspire Footwear, part of Arvind Limited. This onsite role ensures smooth execution of daily footwear upper manufacturing, meeting quality standards and production targets.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise daily closing operations including stitching, component assembly, lining attachment, reinforcement and upper preparation.
• Achieve production targets as per the approved plan and monitor line balancing to optimise manpower utilisation.
• Coordinate with Cutting, Sewing, Lasting and Quality teams to maintain workflow continuity.
• Track and report daily output, efficiency and line performance metrics.
• Conduct in‑line inspections, monitor first‑pass yield, and take corrective actions to reduce defects and rework.
• Ensure adherence to SOPs, quality guidelines and customer specifications for footwear uppers.
• Lead operators, line leaders and machine technicians, conduct shift meetings and communicate production priorities.
• Identify skill gaps, provide training on processes, safety and quality expectations.
• Analyse bottlenecks, drive continuous‑improvement initiatives and implement lean manufacturing and waste‑reduction practices.
• Monitor equipment performance, report maintenance needs and coordinate with the Maintenance team.

Required profile

• Proven experience supervising closing‑production activities in footwear or related manufacturing.
• Strong understanding of SOPs, quality standards and line‑balancing techniques.
• Ability to lead multi‑skill teams, conduct training and manage attendance and performance.
• Analytical mindset for identifying bottlenecks and implementing process improvements.
