Structural Design Engineer

About the role

Jacob Engineers Pvt Ltd is seeking a motivated Structural Design Engineer to join its Chennai office. The role involves delivering high‑quality structural designs for residential, commercial, and industrial projects while collaborating closely with architects, MEP consultants, and site teams.

Key responsibilities

• Design and analyse reinforced concrete (RCC) and steel structures.
• Prepare structural drawings, calculations, and detailed design reports.
• Design foundations, beams, columns, slabs and other structural elements.
• Utilise ETABS, STAAD.Pro, SAFE and AutoCAD for modelling and analysis.
• Coordinate with architects, MEP consultants and project teams to ensure design integration.
• Ensure all designs comply with relevant Indian Standards (IS) codes and safety regulations.
• Support site teams in resolving structural issues and review shop drawings.

Required profile

• B.E./B.Tech in Civil Engineering.
• 3–5 years of hands‑on experience in structural design of residential, commercial or industrial projects.
• Strong knowledge of RCC and steel structural behavior.
• Good communication and problem‑solving abilities.

Required skills

• Proficiency in ETABS, STAAD.Pro, SAFE.
• Advanced AutoCAD skills.
• Familiarity with Revit, Tekla or other BIM tools (preferred).
• Working knowledge of Indian Standards (IS) codes for structural design.
