Stores Operator – Procurement (Manufacturing)

About the role

We are seeking a detail‑oriented Stores Operator to manage inventory, stock records and material movement within a manufacturing environment in Ahmedabad. The role ensures uninterrupted material availability to the shop floor, maintains full traceability of stocked items and supports quality standards such as AS9100 and ISO 9001.

Key responsibilities

• Operate day‑to‑day store functions, handling receipt, storage, issue and replenishment of raw materials (Aluminium, Mild Steel, sheet metal), tooling and consumables.
• Read and interpret job cards to issue correct material quantities to requesting departments.
• Maintain batch/lot numbers, material certificates and lot identity from receipt through issue, ensuring complete traceability.
• Conduct regular stock audits, cycle counts and apply FIFO practices to minimise waste and expiries.
• Monitor minimum and maximum stock levels, raise replenishment requests and coordinate with procurement teams.
• Validate imported material consignments against purchase orders, delivery challans and GRNs.
• Record all inventory transactions in the ERP system and generate stock, consumption and traceability reports.

Required profile

• Diploma or bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent experience‑based knowledge.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in store operations, inventory management or procurement within a manufacturing or engineering setting.
• Hands‑on experience issuing raw materials such as Aluminium, Mild Steel and sheet metal.
• Familiarity with quality management systems (ISO 9001, AS9100) and material traceability requirements.

Required skills

• Proficiency with an ERP system – preferably Epicor.
• Strong analytical and documentation abilities for inventory reporting.
