Statutory Audit Associate (Fresher)

About the role

We are looking for a freshly qualified Chartered Accountant to join our audit team as a Statutory Audit Associate. This entry‑level position offers hands‑on experience in statutory audits, financial statement reviews, and internal control testing across various industries.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in planning and executing statutory audit assignments, performing substantive procedures and documenting audit work papers.
• Examine ledgers, schedules, and books of accounts to verify assets, liabilities, income, and expenses.
• Review financial statements for compliance with applicable accounting standards, disclosures, and supporting schedules.
• Conduct walkthroughs, test internal controls, and support Internal Financial Controls (IFC) audit procedures.
• Coordinate with client finance teams to obtain pending schedules and documentation while maintaining professional communication.
• Identify unusual transactions or audit issues and promptly escalate them to seniors.

Required profile

• Chartered Accountant (CA) qualification completed; freshly qualified CAs are eligible.
• Zero years of post‑qualification experience (fresher).
• Exposure during articleship to statutory audits, Ind AS, IFC, consolidation, or corporate audits in manufacturing, banking, NBFC, or financial services is preferred.

Required skills

• Strong accounting fundamentals and analytical ability.
• Basic knowledge of Standards on Auditing (SAs) and Companies Act.
• Familiarity with Ind AS and Internal Financial Controls.
• Attention to detail, numerical and logical reasoning.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
