State Head – Wires & Cables (Power Division)

About the role

The State Head for Wires & Cables will lead the Power Division’s market entry across a designated Indian state or territory. Reporting to the Joint Business Head of Power, you will own the P&L for a brand‑new product portfolio and build a high‑performing sales network from scratch.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute a go‑to‑market strategy for wires, cables, and related switchgear in the assigned state.
• Leverage the existing Sturlite lighting dealer network (over 16,000 partners) to generate distributor and retailer engagements.
• Recruit, coach, and manage a team of Area Sales Managers (ASMs) and Territory Sales Executives (TSIs) – up to 46 ASMs and 1,828 TSIs.
• Drive sales targets, monitor market trends, and ensure product positioning against competitors such as Polycab, Finolex, KEI, and RR Kabel.
• Maintain product quality standards (ISI‑marked, Class 5 conductor, copper‑pure) and oversee anti‑counterfeit measures.
• Travel extensively (12‑15 days per month) across the state to build relationships and monitor performance.

Required profile

• Senior‑level sales leader with proven P&L ownership in the electrical or industrial sector.
• Demonstrated ability to build and scale a sales organization in a new market.
• Strong network within the electrical distribution channel is a plus.
• Willingness to travel frequently and work from the state capital or key commercial hub.
