Staff Specialist Legal Counsel

About the role

We are seeking a Staff Specialist Legal Counsel to provide expert legal advice and draft agreements across a range of business functions in India. The role involves supporting labour law matters, procurement, real estate, university collaborations and CSR agreements, while also offering occasional assistance on broader legal topics.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver legal advice and draft agreements on labour law, including post‑merger integration and disciplinary actions.
• Review procurement contracts and advise on compliant commercial models, excluding designated categories.
• Handle real‑estate matters such as lease agreements and oversee university program and CSR engagements.
• Provide support for the same legal topics in other Asia‑Pacific jurisdictions as required.
• Offer occasional assistance in intellectual property, data protection, corporate secretarial matters, and post‑merger transactions.
• Conduct legal training sessions for Indian business stakeholders on relevant topics.

Required profile

• Qualified lawyer in India (All India Bar Examination or equivalent).
• Fluent in English (drafting); Hindi/Kannada proficiency is a plus.
• 4‑6 years of relevant experience in private practice or in‑house counsel roles, preferably the latter.
• Strong expertise in labour law, disciplinary processes, and post‑merger labour integration.
• Working knowledge of real‑estate, commercial contracts, IP, corporate secretarial and litigation is advantageous.
• Ability to assess legal risks, advise on business impact, and draft policies, regulations and agreements.
• Analytical mindset, openness to learning new topics and receiving feedback.
