Staff Software Engineer - Java, Springboot, SAAS

About the role

Celonis is looking for a Staff Software Engineer to drive innovation on its cloud‑native SaaS platform. You will work on cutting‑edge process‑mining technology, building scalable micro‑services and data pipelines while collaborating with global teams.

Key responsibilities

• Innovate beyond existing products and bring new ideas to life.
• Own implementation and delivery of assigned projects.
• Provide technical leadership and ensure high‑quality engineering practices.
• Collaborate with engineers, project managers and designers to create cohesive solutions.
• Work with adjacent teams across multiple geographies to drive holistic project success.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 10+ years of software engineering experience, including 7+ years as a backend engineer.
• Proven ability to design and build complex, fault‑tolerant distributed systems.
• Experience with cloud‑native development in Kubernetes and hyperscaler environments such as AWS.
• Strong problem‑solving attitude and ability to learn quickly with minimal supervision.

• Microservices architecture and cloud‑native distributed systems.
• Databases: PostgreSQL and relational SQL.
• Data pipelines: Databricks, ETL, Apache Spark.
• Container orchestration: Kubernetes.
• Cloud platforms: AWS.
• Modern engineering practices: Git, CI/CD, automated testing.
