Staff Software Engineer – Enterprise Infrastructure

About the role

LinkedIn is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to lead the Enterprise Infrastructure Engineering team. You will design and operate large-scale distributed systems that power developers, operators and employees across the company.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build, and optimize large-scale distributed systems with focus on performance, scalability and reliability.
• Lead architectural decisions, evaluating synchronous and asynchronous design patterns.
• Develop platforms, services and tools that abstract underlying complexity and boost developer productivity.
• Write high-quality, maintainable code and enforce software quality through testing, code reviews and CI.
• Participate in and drive design and code reviews to uphold engineering standards.
• Diagnose and resolve complex production issues across multiple layers of the technology stack.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams such as AI, data infrastructure and product.
• Mentor and guide engineers to improve technical execution and system design.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 6+ years of experience in software design, development and distributed systems.
• 5+ years of programming experience in object-oriented languages such as Java, C++ or Python.
• 3+ years of hands-on experience building and operating large-scale distributed systems or infrastructure platforms.
