Staff Nurse Vaccinator

About the role

The NHS Borders Vaccination Team is seeking a motivated, registered nurse to join its comprehensive vaccination service. You will deliver a wide range of immunisations to patients of all ages, from infants to adults, across multiple community settings.

Key responsibilities

• Administer vaccines including childhood immunisations, school programmes, pneumococcal, shingles, RSV, COVID‑19 and seasonal flu.
• Provide vaccination services in health centres, community clinics, schools, care homes and patients’ homes.
• Observe and support a baby and pre‑school vaccination session as part of recruitment.
• Maintain accurate clinical records and adhere to vaccination protocols and safety standards.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure high‑quality, person‑centred care.

Required profile

• First‑level registered nurse.
• Experience in vaccination delivery preferred.
• Background in community or multidisciplinary healthcare settings.
• Strong communication, organisational and decision‑making abilities.
• Commitment to continuous improvement and compassionate leadership.

Required skills

• Vaccination administration.
• Clinical documentation.
