Staff Nurse

About the role

The Staff Nurse will join Mother Teresa Health Centre in Thanjavur to deliver direct, compassionate patient care. Working on‑site full‑time, the nurse will support physicians and the multidisciplinary team in a community‑focused hospital environment.

Key responsibilities

• Perform patient assessments, monitor vital signs, and document clinical observations.
• Administer medications, provide wound care, and assist with basic emergency procedures following established protocols.
• Maintain accurate patient records and ensure compliance with infection‑control and safety standards.
• Educate patients and families on treatment plans, discharge instructions, and basic health practices.
• Participate in shift handovers, emergency response, and routine ward activities.

Required profile

• Recognised nursing qualification (GNM, B.Sc Nursing or equivalent) with valid registration as per local regulations.
• Strong clinical competence in patient assessment, medication administration, wound care and basic emergency management.
• Excellent documentation skills and adherence to hospital protocols.
• Effective communication and interpersonal abilities to work with patients, families and healthcare teams.
• Compassionate, culturally sensitive and committed to non‑discriminatory, patient‑centred care.
• Willingness to work rotating shifts in a fast‑paced environment.
