Staff Nurse – Dialysis Centre

About the role

We are looking for a compassionate Staff Nurse to join our Dialysis Centre. The nurse will deliver safe and efficient dialysis treatments, ensure patient comfort, and uphold infection‑control standards while working closely with a multidisciplinary team.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare dialysis machines and related equipment for each treatment session.
• Assess patients before, during and after dialysis, recording vital signs and clinical observations.
• Initiate, monitor and terminate dialysis according to physician orders, intervening promptly for any complications.
• Administer prescribed medications and intravenous therapies.
• Maintain vascular access care for AV fistulas, grafts and catheters.
• Educate patients and caregivers on dialysis care, medication adherence, diet and lifestyle.
• Document nursing care accurately in electronic medical records.
• Collaborate with nephrologists, technicians, dietitians and other professionals to ensure comprehensive care.
• Respond to medical emergencies and provide Basic Life Support when required.
• Report equipment issues and participate in quality‑improvement activities.

Required profile

• Minimum three years of hands‑on experience in a dialysis unit.
• B.Sc. Nursing or GNM qualification with a valid Nursing Council registration.
• Strong knowledge of dialysis procedures, nephrology nursing practices and emergency management.
• Excellent patient assessment and clinical decision‑making abilities.
• Effective communication and teamwork skills.
• Commitment to patient‑centered, high‑quality care.

Required skills

• Dialysis machine operation and troubleshooting.
• Infection prevention and control protocols.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Electronic medical record systems.
