About the role
At Databricks we build the world’s best data and AI infrastructure platform. We are seeking a senior staff software engineer with deep networking expertise to shape the future of our networking infrastructure and design large‑scale connectivity platforms that power millions of VMs across multiple clouds.
Key responsibilities
- Own and drive the design of large‑scale connectivity platforms that link Databricks’ control plane and compute plane.
- Set technical direction, lead complex cross‑team initiatives, and mentor senior engineers across the organization.
- Collaborate with product management, operations, and partner engineering teams to translate long‑term business goals into durable, extensible networking systems.
Required profile
- 15+ years of production‑level experience in Rust, Java, Scala, C++ or similar languages.
- 10+ years developing large‑scale distributed systems from scratch.
- Experience working on SaaS platforms or service‑oriented architectures.
- Hands‑on experience with cloud networking, Kubernetes, and infrastructure‑automation tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation.
