About the role

Sorano is seeking a dedicated Sous Chef to support the Executive Chef in Kolkata. The role combines hands‑on cooking with leadership responsibilities, ensuring every plate meets the brand’s high standards while guiding a busy kitchen team.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Executive Chef in daily kitchen operations and service execution.
• Maintain consistency, quality, and presentation of all dishes.
• Train, supervise, and motivate junior chefs and kitchen staff.
• Manage food costing, control wastage, and oversee inventory.
• Ensure strict adherence to hygiene, safety, and kitchen systems.
• Handle high‑volume service periods with calm and organized workflow.
• Contribute to menu development and continuous improvement of culinary processes.

Required profile

• Strong experience in a high‑quality restaurant kitchen.
• Proven background with Italian and European cuisine.
• Disciplined, hands‑on, and passionate about food.
• Ability to lead from the front and take ownership of the kitchen.
• Calm and organized during peak service times.
