Software Test Engineer (Cloud)

About the role

Arista Networks is looking for a self‑motivated Software Test Engineer to lead testing of its cloud‑managed Wi‑Fi products. The role focuses on validating complex cloud infrastructure and services that power large‑scale Wi‑Fi networks, ensuring reliability, security and performance.

Key responsibilities

• Lead testing of cloud infrastructure supporting Wi‑Fi, covering scalability, performance and resilience for both cloud and on‑premise deployments.
• Design and execute load, stress and capacity tests to verify cloud services under heavy traffic.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to perform integration tests between cloud APIs and access‑point hardware.
• Create detailed test plans, cases and reports, maintaining traceability to requirements and defects.
• Own specific product features, act as the testing expert, and track defects through resolution.
• Mentor junior team members and share best practices for cloud‑based Wi‑Fi validation.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in E&TC/EE/CE/CS/IT or related field; Master’s degree a plus.
• 10–15 years of experience testing and troubleshooting cloud technologies, virtualization and micro‑services.
• Strong analytical and debugging skills with proven ability to create test methodologies.
• Excellent written and oral English communication.

Required skills

• Hadoop ecosystem: HDFS, HBase, Spark, Kafka streaming, Elasticsearch.
• SQL database knowledge and server‑side validation.
• Linux system expertise.
• Scripting in Python (preferred).
• Understanding of distributed‑system fundamentals such as scalability, elasticity, availability and fault tolerance.
