Software Lead Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a seasoned Software Lead to drive the technical vision and execution of automotive software projects at Bosch’s Bangalore development centre. The role combines hands‑on engineering with team leadership, ensuring high‑quality delivery in a fast‑evolving technology landscape.

Key responsibilities

• Define and guide the technical vision, architecture and implementation choices for software initiatives.
• Establish best practices, technical standards and quality KPIs for the team.
• Lead a team of 10‑12 engineers, conduct performance and goal evaluations, and foster competence development.
• Drive engineering efficiency, innovation, and community activities across the organisation.
• Anticipate technology changes, adapt quickly, and steer the team through agile delivery cycles.
• Estimate problem complexity, prioritise work based on customer relevance, and ensure timely delivery.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional groups using Scrum or other agile methodologies.

Required profile

• BE degree in Electrical/Electronic or Computer Engineering.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in automotive software development.
• Strong communication, leadership and networking abilities.
• Proven ability to manage and mentor a technical team.
• Experience working in Scrum or agile environments is a plus.

Required skills

• C programming language.
• Jenkins, Continuous Integration (CI) and ALM‑RTC tools.
• Agile and Scrum methodologies.
• Embedded systems and control systems knowledge.
• Model‑based software development.
• Multicore controller development and critical computing resource management.
• Understanding of crash physics/dynamics.
