Software Engineer (Ruby on Rails)

About the role

Onit is looking for a Software Engineer to join the OnitX AppBuilder Platform Development team. You will help design and implement new features and APIs that power the company’s legal‑tech products, working primarily on the back‑end while expanding toward full‑stack responsibilities.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and launch new modules and APIs for the Onit App Builder and BillingPoint.
• Collaborate with designers and project managers to create intuitive user experiences.
• Estimate development tasks, meet deadlines, and ensure high‑quality delivery.
• Automate test cases and contribute to the team’s automated testing strategy.

Required profile

• 2+ years of professional web development experience.
• Proficiency in front‑end technologies, especially JavaScript and React.
• Experience with dynamic languages such as Ruby on Rails.
• Intermediate to advanced knowledge of SQL and relational databases; PostgreSQL a plus.
• Familiarity with CI/CD concepts, AWS, containerization and Kubernetes (highly desired).
• Understanding of full‑cycle Agile development and ability to work in Mac/Linux environments.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related field.
