Software Engineer – Java/Python for Navigation Data Standard

About the role

Join HERE Technologies' fast‑growing Navigation Data Standard (NDS) team as a Software Engineer. You will help build the map compilation product that creates high‑definition live maps for autonomous‑driving applications, working with global teammates in an agile environment.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, test and release backend components for the NDS map compilation pipeline using Java and Python.
• Collaborate with internal and external customers to gather requirements, handle change requests and resolve incidents.
• Own one or more software architecture components and ensure they meet performance and scalability targets.
• Participate in code reviews, knowledge sharing and continuous improvement of engineering practices.
• Maintain CI/CD pipelines and automate deployment on AWS and Linux environments.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field.
• At least 2 years of backend development experience with Java 1.8+ and Python.
• Strong problem‑solving, debugging and analytical skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a distributed, multicultural team.
