Software Engineer – Java (Decision Management)

About the role

Mastercard’s Decision Management program builds real-time, intelligent decision-making services that power fraud prevention and other critical capabilities across the global payments network. As a Senior Software Engineer you will join the Pune team to design, develop and maintain high-performance Java applications that run at massive scale.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement application logic using Java 8+ and Spring/Spring Boot.
• Develop, unit-test, integrate and functional-test code following Agile scrum ceremonies.
• Collaborate with product, security and operations teams to ensure code quality, coverage (Sonar) and security (Blackduck, Checkmarx).
• Maintain CI/CD pipelines, source control (Bitbucket/GitHub) and observability tools (Splunk, Dynatrace).
• Mentor junior team members while staying hands-on with development tasks.

Required profile

• Strong programming background in Java (8 or higher) with deep knowledge of data structures, algorithms and design patterns.
• Experience building cloud-native micro-services, preferably on AWS.
• Proficiency with testing frameworks (JUnit, Mockito/EasyMock) and code quality tools.
• Solid understanding of SQL/Oracle databases and scripting languages (Shell, Python, Groovy).
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies and tools such as Jira and Confluence.
