Software Engineer III – Mobile

About the role

Google’s Payments team is seeking a Software Engineer III focused on mobile technologies. In this role you will help build and enhance payment experiences such as Autofill, tap‑and‑pay, and the Google Pay app, ensuring they are simple, seamless and secure for billions of users.

Key responsibilities

• Write clean, efficient product or system code for mobile payment solutions.
• Lead design reviews with peers and stakeholders to choose appropriate technologies.
• Review and provide feedback on code from other developers, enforcing style, testability and performance standards.
• Maintain and improve documentation and educational content, adapting it to product updates and user feedback.
• Triage, debug, track and resolve product or system issues, assessing impact on hardware, network or service operations.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
• At least 2 years of software development experience (or 1 year with an advanced degree).
• Preferred: Master’s or PhD in Computer Science or related field, plus 2 years experience with data structures and algorithms.
• Experience developing accessible technologies is a plus.

Required skills

• Software development in one or more programming languages.
• Strong understanding of data structures and algorithms.
• Mobile development experience.
