Software Engineer III - Java, Spring, Kafka, AWS

About the role

JPMorgan Chase is looking for a seasoned Software Engineer III to join its Consumer and Community Banking team. You will work in an agile environment to design, develop, and deliver secure, high‑quality technology solutions that support the firm’s business objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and troubleshoot Java‑based microservices using Spring Boot and Kafka event streaming.
• Write secure, production‑ready code and maintain synchronous algorithms that integrate with core banking systems.
• Leverage enterprise‑authorized AI coding assistants for code generation, refactoring, unit test creation, and documentation, while ensuring peer‑review and automated testing compliance.
• Create architecture and design artifacts for complex applications, guaranteeing design constraints are met.
• Gather, analyze, and visualize large data sets to drive continuous improvement of software applications and system architecture.
• Identify hidden problems and patterns in data to enhance coding hygiene and system resilience.

Required profile

• Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts.
• 3+ years of hands‑on experience building software solutions for complex business problems.
• Proven experience with microservices, system design, Spring Boot, Kafka, automated testing, CI/CD pipelines, and operational stability.
• Solid understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle and agile methodologies.
• Experience using AI‑assisted development tools in an enterprise environment.
