Software Engineer II – Java Full Stack Developer

About the role

Mastercard is seeking a hands‑on Software Engineer II to join its Business Intelligence application development team. You will work on modern, data‑driven solutions that power advanced analytics and reporting for a global customer base, focusing on scalability, performance, security, and reliability.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and own Java‑based backend services and REST APIs in a distributed architecture.
• Build and enhance UI applications using Angular and Node.js.
• Own end‑to‑end delivery including design, development, testing, deployment, configuration, and documentation.
• Ensure high‑quality code through code reviews, unit/integration testing, and automation.
• Drive engineering best practices such as clean architecture, performance optimization, and resiliency.
• Troubleshoot complex production issues and perform root‑cause analysis across systems.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional product and engineering teams to deliver scalable solutions.

Required profile

• 3‑5 years of professional software development experience.
• Strong problem‑solving and debugging skills in distributed systems.
• Ability to work independently as a hands‑on individual contributor.
• Effective communication and collaboration across cross‑functional teams.
