Software Engineer II – Java, AWS

About the role

Join JPMorgan Chase’s Consumer and Community Banking team as a Software Engineer II, where you will design, develop, and maintain secure, scalable Java‑based services on AWS. You will work in an agile environment, collaborating with cross‑functional teams to deliver high‑quality technology products.

Key responsibilities

• Write secure, high‑quality Java code using Spring and related frameworks.
• Design, develop, and troubleshoot components that integrate with upstream and downstream systems.
• Utilize AWS services to build and deploy cloud‑native solutions.
• Implement event‑driven architectures with Kafka and event streaming.
• Apply Hibernate, JPA, and both SQL and NoSQL databases for data persistence.
• Leverage SDLC tools to automate testing, CI/CD pipelines, and code quality checks.
• Analyze large data sets to identify issues and support decision‑making for stable application development.
• Adopt enterprise‑approved AI capabilities to accelerate coding, testing, and documentation while ensuring security and auditability.

Required profile

• Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts.
• At least 2 years of hands‑on experience developing Java applications.
• Experience working in an agile environment with CI/CD practices.
• Ability to write secure code and troubleshoot technical problems of basic complexity.
• Familiarity with data analysis to support application stability and security decisions.
