Software Engineer II – HL7 Interface Engineer

About the role

Philips is seeking a Software Engineer II to work on HL7 interface development, configuration, and testing. The role focuses on integrating EMR, PACS, and other hospital systems, ensuring reliable data exchange and supporting implementation phases.

Key responsibilities

• Support development, configuration, and testing of HL7 interfaces for integration with EMR, PACS, and hospital systems.
• Validate, map, and troubleshoot HL7 messages (ADT, ORM, ORU workflows).
• Configure and monitor interfaces using integration engines such as Rhapsody, Corepoint, Mirth Connect, or similar tools.
• Perform interface testing, issue resolution, and ensure reliable data exchange across systems.
• Participate in end‑to‑end implementation activities including build, testing, go‑live, and hyper‑care phases.
• Collaborate with global implementation, application, and integration teams to deliver smooth deployments.
• Monitor interfaces, resolve data‑flow and connectivity issues, and maintain documentation for configurations, testing, and issue tracking.

Required profile

• 2–5 years of experience in healthcare IT, integration support, or application support roles.
• Strong understanding of HL7 v2 messaging, interface workflows, and healthcare interoperability concepts.
• Familiarity with SQL/databases and exposure to integration tools such as Rhapsody, Mirth Connect, Corepoint, Intersystems, or Openlink.
• Experience working with EMR, PACS, HIS, or other clinical systems.
• Willingness to work in customer‑facing environments and grow in integration and implementation roles.
• Nice‑to‑have exposure to FHIR/APIs, DICOM, Python scripting, or cardiology/imaging workflows.
