Software Engineer – Backend (C++)

About the role

DigiCert’s Public Trust PKI engineering team is looking for a Software Engineer to develop and maintain backend services that power certificate issuance and management. You will work primarily in C++ within a distributed micro‑service environment, collaborating with Java and Go teams.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain backend components supporting certificate lifecycle workflows.
• Implement and enhance C++ applications and consume RESTful APIs across micro‑services.
• Collaborate with product managers, architects, QA engineers, and other developers to deliver high‑quality solutions.
• Debug, troubleshoot, and resolve production issues, including performance, memory, and scalability challenges.
• Work with Microsoft SQL Server and Cassandra databases to support platform functionality.
• Participate in Agile processes, sprint planning, and technical discussions.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• 2+ years of professional software development experience.
• Strong proficiency in C++ and object‑oriented programming.
• Experience with REST APIs, relational databases, and basic Docker container concepts.
