Software Engineer – Azure Data Platform

About the role

Microsoft's Azure Data engineering team is looking for a Software Engineer to help build and maintain the Fabric platform, a unified data stack that powers AI‑driven applications. You will work on a high‑throughput, multi‑tenant service that supports a broad portfolio of data products.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, operate, and improve a large‑scale, multi‑tenant data service.
• Collaborate with product management and partner teams to design and implement solutions.
• Participate in on‑call rotations to ensure service health and reliability.
• Drive operational excellence through metrics, governance, and policy controls.
• Document existing data engineering processes and evaluate them for optimization.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years of technical experience in software engineering, network engineering, or systems administration, or equivalent academic credentials.
• 2+ years of experience with scripting languages such as PowerShell or Python.
• Proven ability to write code that automates routine tasks.
• Eligibility to meet Microsoft, customer, and/or government security screening requirements.
