Software Engineer 2 – Azure PostgreSQL

About the role

Microsoft's Azure Data engineering team is looking for a Software Development Engineer II to join the Azure PostgreSQL service. You will help build and operate a globally distributed, fully managed PostgreSQL platform that powers mission‑critical workloads for customers worldwide.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and deliver software that improves reliability, scalability, performance, security, and efficiency of the cloud service.
• Fix, enhance, and support production services, including periodic on‑call duties.
• Develop automation solutions for production environments.
• Collaborate with global teams to meet requirements for enterprise‑grade services.
• Participate in code reviews, bug triage, and influence design, architecture, and operational standards.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field.
• At least 2 years of software engineering experience.
• Experience coding in languages such as C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python.

Required skills

• Proficiency in C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, and Python.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms, particularly Microsoft Azure.
• Understanding of PostgreSQL and database concepts.
