Software Development Manager – Prime Video Sports

About the role

Prime Video’s Sports team is reinventing live‑sports streaming with high‑quality video, interactive features and AI‑driven insights. As a Software Development Manager you will lead a group of engineers building the infrastructure that guarantees availability, scalability and performance for marquee events such as the NFL, Premier League and Grand Slam tennis.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, mentor and grow a team of software engineers, overseeing project delivery, performance reviews and career development.
• Define and communicate road‑maps, aligning engineering work with product goals and stakeholder expectations.
• Collaborate with peer managers to scope, estimate and prioritize development effort across the Prime Video Sports stack.
• Drive best‑in‑class practices for speed, quality, availability and scale in a 24/7 live‑sports environment.
• Champion the integration of AI technologies to enable predictive analytics, automated defect detection and intelligent operations.

Required profile

• Hands‑on technical leader with deep experience in the full software development life‑cycle.
• Proven ability to hire, coach and develop high‑performing engineering teams.
• Strong curiosity and appetite for learning emerging AI tools and techniques.
• Excellent communication skills to convey complex technical concepts to both technical and non‑technical audiences.
