Software Development Manager – Last Mile Payments

About the role

Amazon is seeking a hands‑on Software Development Manager to lead the Last Mile Payments team. You will drive the creation of a next‑generation payments platform that processes billions of dollars for delivery services such as Prime Now, Amazon Fresh, and Amazon Lockers.

Key responsibilities

• Lead a high‑performance engineering team through the full software lifecycle, from design to production operations.
• Architect and design scalable, reliable multi‑tier web services for global payment processing.
• Partner with product and program managers to define feature requirements and product strategy.
• Ensure engineering best practices, including coding standards, code reviews, source‑control, build pipelines, testing, and live‑site operations.
• Recruit, mentor, and develop software engineers to improve technical effectiveness.

Required profile

• 3+ years of experience managing engineering teams.
• 7+ years of hands‑on software engineering experience.
• 3+ years designing or architecting large‑scale systems.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Self‑driven with a track record of delivering high‑quality results in fast‑paced environments.
