Software Development Manager – CAD/API

About the role

Sandvik’s Intelligent Manufacturing division is seeking a Software Development Manager to lead the CAD software team within the Cimatron Business Unit. Based in Pune, you will drive the delivery of high‑quality CAD solutions that support the company’s product roadmap and enable advanced tooling design for mold and die manufacturing.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate CAD software development initiatives, ensuring on‑time, in‑scope delivery.
• Partner with Product Owners and Product Management to align priorities with business objectives.
• Provide technical leadership on complex CAD topics, including geometric modeling, CAD infrastructure, API development, and data exchange.
• Oversee risk management, estimation, and progress reporting to maintain predictability and transparency.
• Support resolution of critical customer‑reported CAD issues, coordinating investigations and defect analysis.
• Facilitate API discussions with internal and external stakeholders.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing software development teams, preferably in CAD or related engineering domains.
• Strong understanding of agile delivery practices and cross‑functional collaboration.
• Excellent communication skills to convey technical concepts to product and business teams.
