Software Development Engineer (SDE-1) – Contract

About the role

AEE is seeking an experienced Software Development Engineer to join its expansion technology team. This contract role focuses on building and scaling platforms that enable new store launches with local language, currency, and payment support, while delivering innovative features for Amazon’s global expansion.

Key responsibilities

• Design, architect, and implement large‑scale, distributed software solutions.
• Build, operate, and evolve a platform that handles information extraction, data mining, and high‑throughput computing.
• Stabilize day‑to‑day operations, improve build and testing pipelines, and ensure security and compliance.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to solve ambiguous, high‑impact problems.
• Monitor metrics and automate auditing to drive business outcomes.

Required profile

• Minimum 1 year of professional software development experience (non‑internship).
• Experience programming in at least one language.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent (preferred).
• Ability to work on massive scale, handle layered complexity, and thrive in ambiguous environments.
