Software Development Engineer – Retail Technology

About the role

Amazon is looking for a Software Development Engineer to join the Worldwide Grocery Stores Tech organization. You will help design and build scalable, high‑impact services that power food production across Amazon’s grocery brands, including Whole Foods Market, Amazon Fresh, and Amazon Go.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and deploy reliable distributed solutions at Amazon scale.
• Build and maintain food production services for in‑store kitchens and centralized facilities.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams across Amazon and Whole Foods Market to define architectural goals.
• Drive incremental launches while focusing on high‑risk, high‑value components.
• Contribute to team quality standards and promote an inclusive engineering culture.

Required profile

• 3+ years of professional software development experience.
• 2+ years of experience in software design or architecture (design patterns, reliability, etc.).
• Comfort working in ambiguous, fast‑paced environments.
• Data‑driven decision making with a strong focus on customer impact.
• Ability to mentor teammates and provide constructive feedback.
