Software Development Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a Software Development Engineer to drive innovation in our AI‑enabled development lifecycle and provide first‑level support for merchandising applications. The role combines hands‑on coding, troubleshooting, and the design of scalable cloud solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Develop monitoring solutions and embed AI‑driven development practices into the software development lifecycle.
• Troubleshoot, debug and implement fixes for internally developed codebases using Java, React and related technologies.
• Design and implement distributed systems on AWS using serverless services such as Lambda and DynamoDB.
• Build and maintain Generative AI (GenAI) based solutions within the SDLC.
• Collaborate with development teams on corporate and divisional software projects.
• Automate support processes and keep system documentation up to date.

Required profile

• Computer Science degree or equivalent technical qualification.
• At least 4 years of professional software development experience.
• Proven experience with AWS and AI‑driven development practices.

Required skills

• Strong software development foundation with expertise in Java and React.
• Experience with Mason, Perl CGI, Oracle SQL, HTML and UNIX/Linux environments.
• Knowledge of distributed systems, microservices architecture, and serverless AWS services (DynamoDB, Lambda).
• Familiarity with modern AI/ML SDLC tools, DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines.
