Social Management cum Labour Welfare Inspector

About the role

The Social Management cum Labour Welfare Inspector will oversee labour welfare activities at a construction project site in Guwahati. You will ensure compliance with labour laws, monitor worker conditions, and support community‑related initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor wages, working conditions, and basic facilities such as drinking water, sanitation, first aid and accommodation.
• Ensure compliance with statutory labour regulations and project‑specific social safeguards.
• Handle worker grievances promptly and maintain accurate records of attendance and welfare measures.
• Verify that no child labour is present and that safety practices are adhered to on site.
• Coordinate with contractors, local authorities and the project team to prepare regular compliance reports.

Required profile

• Graduate or postgraduate degree in Social Work, Sociology, Labour Welfare or a related field.
• 3–8 years of experience in infrastructure, road or highway projects.
• Strong knowledge of Indian labour laws and social safeguard practices.
• Excellent communication and coordination abilities.
