Site Manager

About the role

Siteweld Limited is seeking an experienced Site Manager to oversee the construction of a new site in Guernsey. You will be responsible for coordinating all on‑site activities, ensuring health and safety compliance, and delivering the project on schedule and within budget.

Key responsibilities

• Interpret design drawings and develop a detailed schedule of works.
• Allocate labour and resources at the right time to meet project milestones.
• Monitor costings (time and financial) for each construction stage.
• Enforce health and safety laws and guidelines at all times.
• Maintain daily site safety, close the site each day, and display required paperwork.
• Direct team crews and subcontractors, minimizing delays.
• Report progress to directors and inspect work to ensure standards.
• Resolve technical or mechanical issues promptly.
• Coordinate delivery of materials and track ordered goods.
• Approve timesheets for in‑house crews and subcontractors.
• Serve as the main point of contact for visitors, subcontractors, and official bodies.

Required profile

• Recent experience as a site manager or in a supervisory construction role.
• Strong understanding of construction methods, building codes, and safety regulations.
• Relevant safety certification (e.g., CPCS blue, CIOB, OSHA).
• Leadership, conflict‑resolution and analytical problem‑solving abilities.
• Proficiency with IT tools for reporting and scheduling.
