Site Architect

About the role

The Site Architect will be based full‑time on‑site in Chennai, leading the design and execution of eco‑friendly building projects and heritage renovations for Earthen Studio. You will translate climate‑responsive concepts into detailed architectural solutions that use regional materials, natural plasters and integrated water‑management systems.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive site studies, climate analysis and vernacular research to inform design decisions.
• Develop architectural concepts, schematic and construction drawings aligned with sustainable and regional principles.
• Coordinate with construction teams, material suppliers and consultants to implement natural plasters, lime finishes and water filtration systems.
• Monitor on‑site progress, ensuring compliance with quality, safety and environmental standards.
• Prepare project documentation, assist clients in refining requirements and resolve design challenges during construction.

Required profile

• Professional degree in Architecture; registration with an architectural council is a plus.
• Strong background in climate‑responsive and low‑carbon architecture.
• Experience in project management, scheduling and construction supervision.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work with multidisciplinary teams.
