Simulation Engineer – Structural Mechanics

About the role

You will join an international CAE team supporting product development and application‑simulation groups. The role focuses on creating material and damage models, performing finite element analyses in structural mechanics and dynamics, and evaluating the lifetime of turbocharger components.

Key responsibilities

• Develop material and damage cards for finite element simulations.
• Conduct structural mechanics and dynamics analyses using CAE tools.
• Assess component lifetime based on simulation results and engineering guidelines.
• Provide CAE support for turbocharger product development programs.
• Collaborate with material development, testing departments and external partners to validate simulation methods.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• 4–8 years of experience in solid mechanics, dynamics and fatigue analysis.
• Familiarity with lifetime‑assessment guidelines such as FKM and VDI 2230.
• Strong analytical skills and ability to work in a cross‑functional, international environment.
• Good German language skills are a plus.

Required skills

• Expert use of CAE software: Ansys, Abaqus and HyperWorks.
• Finite Element Analysis (FEA) for structural mechanics and dynamics.
• Material and damage modeling for simulation.
