Shift Officer – Maintenance (Mechanical)

About the role

The Shift Officer – Maintenance (Mechanical) ensures optimal performance and reliability of automated production equipment. Working across shifts, you will supervise technical interventions, drive preventive maintenance, and support automation upgrades while adhering to safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Execute maintenance policies in collaboration with the Maintenance Technique Responsible.
• Troubleshoot, calibrate and maintain automated machines, diagnosing mechanical, electrical and software issues.
• Implement predictive and preventive maintenance actions, including condition‑based strategies.
• Manage spare‑part availability and ensure compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
• Update and archive machinery documentation, ISO records, and digital maintenance tools (SAPPM, Mobile Maintenance, Digital SIM).
• Lead a team of technicians during shifts, ensuring proper system management and root‑cause analysis of breakdowns.
• Identify and execute cost‑saving, cycle‑time reduction, and efficiency improvement projects.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Mechatronics Engineering.
• 4‑7 years of experience in FMCG or food manufacturing maintenance.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, pneumatics and hydraulics.
• Solid understanding of electrical circuits, sensors and actuators.

Required skills

• PLC/HMI programming (Siemens, Allen Bradley, Schneider).
• Predictive and preventive maintenance techniques.
• Use of digital maintenance platforms (SAPPM, Mobile Maintenance, Digital SIM).
• Robotics integration basics.
