Service Engineer – Wind Turbine Maintenance

About the role

Vestas is looking for a Service Engineer to join its Karnataka service team. You will be responsible for maintaining wind turbine generators, ensuring safety, and delivering high‑quality post‑sales service.

Key responsibilities

• Attend breakdown calls and perform on‑site maintenance of wind turbine generators (WTG) and related equipment.
• Document all work, including spare consumption, and report abnormalities to supervisors.
• Keep up to date with operating manuals, service bulletins, and certified checklists.
• Maintain safety and care of tools, measuring instruments, and spare parts.
• Ensure compliance with HSE, ISO, and statutory requirements.
• Assist in sub‑assembly of WTG components at the factory when required.
• Rectify mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic breakdowns and analyse turbine performance.
• Prepare performance reports and support major component replacements (blade, gearbox, generator, main shaft).

Required profile

• Diploma or degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Electronics engineering.
• 3–6 years of experience in wind turbine generator service.
• Fluent English and Kannada; Hindi is a plus.
• Willingness to promote diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging.
• Physical ability to climb ladders up to 150 m and work in demanding weather conditions.
• Capability to work remotely with limited supervision and flexibility for travel and overtime.

Required skills

• Mechanical, electrical and hydraulic breakdown rectification.
• Unit sub‑station maintenance (advantage).
• SAP S/4HANA (advantage).
• Microsoft Excel, Word and Power BI.
