SEO Executive

About the role

We are seeking a hands‑on SEO Executive to drive organic growth and improve local search visibility for upGrad’s network of 24‑25 Learning Support Centres across India. The role will focus on on‑page optimisation, link‑building campaigns, managing Google Business Profiles and emerging AI‑driven search opportunities, all aimed at generating leads and increasing traffic.

Key responsibilities

• Execute on‑page and technical SEO across centre websites and landing pages, including meta tags, headings, internal linking and schema implementation.
• Update and optimise content directly in WordPress and other CMS platforms.
• Conduct keyword research, map keywords to user intent and optimise content accordingly.
• Plan and run backlink acquisition campaigns, identify guest‑blogging opportunities and manage outreach and placement.
• Maintain and optimise more than 30 Google Business Profiles to boost local‑pack visibility and drive calls or directions.
• Optimise content for AI‑driven search results (ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity, Gemini) applying Answer Engine Optimization (AEO) and Generative Engine Optimization (GEO) principles.
• Perform competitor analysis, audit sites with SEMrush and monitor organic traffic and lead‑generation performance.

Required profile

• 2–5 years of proven SEO experience, with a track record of on‑page improvements and backlink acquisition.
• Hands‑on experience in guest‑blog outreach and large‑scale Google Business Profile management.
• Comfortable working in a fast‑paced, lead‑generation focused environment.
• Strong analytical mindset and ability to translate data into actionable SEO strategies.
