Senior WLAN Host Engineer

About the role

Qualcomm is looking for a Senior WLAN Host Engineer to design, develop and optimise Linux drivers for its Access Point System‑on‑Chip solutions. The role involves bringing up new drivers, performing extensive testing and delivering high‑performance, reliable networking functionality.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, unit‑test and document Linux drivers for AP SoC platforms.
• Bring up drivers on new hardware and validate all features.
• Optimise driver code for maximum performance and low power consumption.
• Analyse and fix bugs discovered during product verification and reported by customers.
• Travel to customer sites as needed to resolve complex issues.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s, Master’s or PhD in Engineering, Computer Science or a related field.
• 4‑6 years of hands‑on experience in WLAN or Linux driver development.
• Strong problem‑solving abilities and capacity to work under pressure.
• Excellent communication skills and willingness to travel abroad.

Required skills

• Proficient programming in C (also C++, Java, Python).
• In‑depth knowledge of the Linux kernel and device driver development.
• Experience with networking components, Ethernet and Wireless LAN drivers.
• Debugging, performance optimisation and unit‑testing of drivers.
• Documentation of driver architecture and test results.
