Senior Technical Specialist

About the role

KONE is seeking a Senior Technical Specialist to develop and deliver highly demanding engineering concepts and solutions for its global equipment portfolio. Based in Chennai, the role involves leading cross‑functional projects, acting as a key engineering stakeholder and ensuring that designs meet safety, cost and sustainability criteria.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and design customized, high‑complexity solutions for KONE equipment worldwide.
• Lead global cross‑functional engineering projects and act as a substitute manager when required.
• Analyse contracts and specifications, select optimal products, and create detailed drawings and engineering structures.
• Consider cost, safety and environmental sustainability in all designs.
• Participate in global engineering team meetings, workshops and knowledge sharing.
• Report progress, self‑check outputs and review colleagues’ work to ensure quality.

Required profile

• 8–12 years of engineering experience in technical design and product development.
• In‑depth knowledge of KONE’s global equipment offering, technical strengths and limitations.
• Proven ability to lead international projects and make management‑level decisions.
• Strong analytical skills to interpret contracts, specifications and cost structures.
• Commitment to safety standards and environmentally sustainable solutions.
