Senior System Engineer – AIX L3 System Administrator

About the role

The AIX L3 System Administrator will lead expert‑level administration, engineering and support of IBM AIX and Power Systems environments for Ensono’s clients. This senior position is the highest technical escalation point, responsible for stability, security and availability of mission‑critical workloads.

Key responsibilities

• Install, configure, administer and maintain IBM AIX servers, including kernel, LVM and user security management.
• Manage virtualization technologies such as PowerVM, VIOS, HMC, DLPAR, Live Partition Mobility and virtual networking/storage.
• Perform OS builds, migrations (6.1‑7.3), patching, hardware refreshes and lifecycle management using NIM and VIOS upgrades.
• Analyze performance, conduct capacity planning and design HA/DR solutions for fault‑tolerant systems.
• Lead major incident investigations, root‑cause analysis and coordinate with hardware vendors.
• Develop Shell and Perl scripts to automate routine tasks and maintain technical documentation.

Required profile

• 8–12+ years of hands‑on experience with IBM AIX and Power Systems administration.
• Proven expertise in troubleshooting complex OS and hardware issues under pressure.
• Strong analytical, communication and documentation skills.
• Ability to work in rotational shifts and provide on‑call support.
