Senior Structures Engineer – Rail

About the role

AECOM is seeking a Senior Structures Engineer to support rail infrastructure projects. The role involves delivering primary design elements, performing calculations and tests, and providing guidance to junior engineers within a collaborative global team.

Key responsibilities

• Perform specific and moderate portions of broader engineering assignments.
• Gather and correlate basic engineering data using established procedures.
• Execute detailed or routine engineering tasks involving calculations and simple tests.
• Propose approaches to solve new problems by modifying standard methods.
• Identify discrepancies in results and ensure design accuracy.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to entry‑level engineers.
• Deliver work within agreed budget and schedule with minimal supervision.
• Independently complete primary design elements for engineering works.

Required profile

• Ability to guide and mentor junior engineers.
• Works with little supervision and adheres to budget and schedule constraints.
• Requires developmental experience in a professional engineering position.
